CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS

Early check-in or late check-out may be available; additional charges may apply. If you do not vacate by check-out time (or late check-out time as agreed by these policy), you authorize us to charge a late departure fee of up to one night’s rental. 

Prior to departure please review the following list: 

1. When you leave, please lock both doors.

2. The checkout time is at 10 AM and cleaners will arrive shortly after that time!

3. Check under the bed and in drawers for any belongings you might have left behind. If you are concerned that something may have been left call or text me as soon as possible. If any possession of yours is found at The Helm House, you will be contacted immediately and arrangements will be made to return your items (cost of shipping must be paid by the guest). 

4. Turn off all the lights, fans, TVs and the AC.

5. Leave all used bedding as is - please do not strip the beds. Your cleaning fee includes that service. Please hang up any wet towels -  Do not leave them on the floor, in the shower or in a pile. 

6. Make sure all the windows are closed and locked! 

7. If you have dirty dishes, please take a moment to load and run the dishwasher. Please be considerate to hand wash any items that are not dishwasher safe (e.g., plastic items, outdoor dishware, wooden cutting boards, etc.).

8. Remove ALL kitchen trash and place in outside garbage bins next to garage. Bathroom trash will be removed by cleaning staff - your cleaning fee includes that service. If you dispose of lobster, seafood or shellfish, please double bag the trash and immediately dispose of the contents in the outside garage containers.

9. Refrigerator - take what you want or leave the items! Your cleaning fee includes this service and you are not obligated to clean it out.

10. Check ONCE MORE for any remaining personal items. So far we have found and successfully returned the following items left by guests (Maui Jim sunglasses, a pair of earrings and Brooks running sneakers).

We understand that forgetting an item can happen but we want to avoid any stress this may cause our Helm House guests. ​
